ALLAHABAD: Stepping up security arrangements at Allahabad railway
station, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway
Police (GRP) have drawn a blue print for the month-long Magh Mela. GRP,
RPF would be deployed at all entry and exit points. Activities of
suspicious elements would be monitored through CCTVs. Additional
security force has been called to provide fool-proof security during the
Magh Mela.
Temporary police outposts have also been set up at Jhunsi, Phaphamau, Daraganj, Prayag Ghat, Mauaima and Bharwari railway stations. Each police outpost would be manned by around 100 security personnel and they would provide security to the pilgrims arriving at these places during the mela period.
Additional force has also been sought for main stations, including Allahabad junction, Rambagh, Vindhyanchal, Sirathu, Khaga, Fatehpur, Kanpur.
